A BILL to amend and reenact section five-a, article six, chapter twenty-nine of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, continuing the division of personnel.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section five-a, article six, chapter twenty-nine of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION.
§29-6-5a. Termination of division.
Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, the division of personnel shall continue to exist until the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-eight two thousand four.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the Division of Personnel until July 1, 2004, pursuant to the provisions of the West Virginia Sunset Law. A full performance evaluation was completed in 1996 and compliance with the recommendations of that evaluation monitored during the 1997 interim.
